Maria has been dancing since she was 4 years old. She has 14 years of ballet training and began ballroom dancing 6 years ago when she began studying animal science at the University of Vermont. Since then, she has become a two-time US National Medalist (Bronze Amateur Standard), a US Collegiate National Champion (Bronze Amateur Smooth Foxtrot), and a 3-time Regional Champion (Bronze Amateur Smooth, Bronze Amateur Standard, Silver Amateur Smooth).

Before he began ballroom dancing, Jonathan spent over a decade as a professional athlete and coach in the world of figure skating. While studying biology at the University of Vermont, he tried ballroom dancing on a date, and discovered his passion for dance. Since then, he has become a two-time US National Medalist (Bronze Amateur Standard), a US Collegiate National Champion (Bronze Amateur Smooth Foxtrot), and a 3-time Regional Champion (Bronze Amateur Smooth, Bronze Amateur Standard, Silver Amateur Smooth).
Favorite Dance: Tango
Jonathan Hayward
Owen is the youngest member of the Queen City Dance staff. He discovered ballroom dancing at the University of Vermont while studying mechanical engineering. Despite only starting dancing in the spring of 2008, thanks largely to a tireless work ethic and endless enthusiasm, he has gone on to win several major collegiate competitions, become Regional Champion (Bronze and Silver Amateur Smooth), a US National Medalist (Bronze and Silver Amateur Smooth, Bronze Amateur Standard), and a US National Champion (Bronze Amateur Smooth).
